Supporter – TAVAS – The Hangar
Supporter Showcase
We have introduced you to some of our Mentors. Now it is time to meet the incredible people that support us and help us #makeadifference.
The Australian Vintage Aviation Society or TAVAS has been with us and a supporter from the start.
If you have ever wondered where we are during our programs and where some of those photos of The Hangar’s activities were taken then this is it – the TAVAS Museum at Caboolture airfield.
It is a museum, like no other. Showcasing the first 30 years of aviation, and in particular World War I. The majority of the aircraft in the museum are capable of flying. There is even a Fokker DR.1 Triplane – the Red Baron’s famous fighter.
So who was the first man to achieve powered flight? If you answered, the Wright brothers, then you need to visit the TAVAS museum and see what actually happened 2 years earlier in 1901.
TAVAS Museum is open
Wed – Sun: 1000 – 1500
