What we do

The Hangar is a Not-for-Profit (NFP) organisation, which delivers youth mentoring and development programs. The mentoring program is aimed to empower and educate young people through an aviation based 5 point Checklist:
  • Perspective – Point of View
  • Challenge – Your ability – Your strength
  • Accept – Don’t control the Uncontrollables
  • Take Charge – Assume Control
  • Reach – Stretch outside your comfort zone

There is no set criterion that qualifies a person for The Hangar’s programs. It will use aviation to engage with young people in a way that only aviation can, delivering targeted and well researched programs so young people can develop strategies to manage everyday challenges. In each of the checklist programs will be delivered through activities that include:

AIRBORNE – DRONE – KIT BUILD – HISTORY

The programs are run over 5 days, each of approximately 4-5 hours. The goal is to have those who have completed the full CHECKLIST come back or better still graduate to become a Mentor and make a difference to someone else’s life. The Hangar programs are going to be run from Caboolture airfield just north of Brisbane.
